This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson who enjoys being on the tools and completing quality installation work, rather than spending every day carrying out repetitive preventative maintenance.
The business has a strong pipeline of work across Sydney and is looking to strengthen its HVAC installation capability with someone who can work autonomously, take ownership of jobs and contribute positively to the wider team.
The Role
This position will be predominantly focused on HVAC installation and project works, although some service, fault finding and maintenance may be required depending on workload.
You will work across a diverse portfolio of commercial and building services sites throughout Sydney, including schools, healthcare facilities, aged care, commercial buildings and other facilities.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Installation of commercial HVAC systems
- VRV / VRF installation and associated pipework
- Split and ducted air conditioning installations
- Installation and replacement of HVAC equipment
- Refrigeration pipework, brazing, pressure testing and commissioning
- Installation of ventilation and associated mechanical services
- Equipment changeovers and upgrade works
- Reading plans and completing installation set-outs
- Carrying out testing and commissioning
- Diagnosing and repairing HVAC faults when required
- Completing minor service and maintenance works
- Working autonomously across client sites
- Liaising professionally with clients, builders and other trades
- Completing job records through Simpro
- Supporting and mentoring apprentices where required
- Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship
We are looking for someone with a strong practical HVAC installation background who is comfortable working independently.
Ideally, you will have:
- Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
- Current ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence
- NSW Contractor Licence or Qualified Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- Current NSW Driver Licence
- Strong commercial HVAC installation experience
- Experience with VRV/VRF, split and ducted systems
- Strong refrigeration pipework and brazing capability
- Ability to read plans and mechanical drawings
- Good understanding of commissioning and testing
- Some service, repair and fault-finding experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full Australian working rights
You will also need to be comfortable completing a police check, Working with Children Check and pre-employment medical.
