About the company

Tilt Renewables is an Australian renewable energy developer, owner and operator with a long term focus on building and caring for high quality renewable generation assets. With 1.9GW of operational assets and a development pipeline of more than 5GW, Tilt is entering an exciting period of continued growth. The business currently operates 12 renewable energy sites, representing around $4.8 billion in asset value, with a further two projects under construction.

With corporate offices in Sydney and Melbourne and a growing team of around 150 people, Tilt takes a pragmatic, commercially focused approach to developing, operating and optimising its renewable energy portfolio.

About the Role

Morson Edge is partnering with Tilt Renewables to recruit an experienced Civil Project Engineer to support the construction of the Palmer Wind Farm Project.

This is a hands-on, site-based role acting as the client's representative, providing technical oversight, quality assurance and compliance verification across civil construction activities.

Working closely with contractors, the Owner's Engineer and Tilt's project team, you will ensure civil works are completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, contractual requirements and relevant standards.

Importantly, this is a client-side assurance role rather than a traditional construction delivery position.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections across bulk earthworks, access roads, drainage, concrete foundations and associated civil Balance of Plant (BoP) works.
  • Verify construction activities comply with approved engineering drawings, specifications, Australian Standards and contractual requirements.
  • Review contractor quality assurance documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), test results, lot registers and hold/witness points.
  • Identify construction defects and non-conformances, raising and managing NCRs through to resolution.
  • Monitor civil construction activities, including excavation, compaction, reinforcement installation and concrete pours.
  • Work closely with contractors, site supervisors and engineering teams to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
  • Coordinate with the Owner's Engineer on inspections, design clarifications and technical matters.
  • Witness and verify material, compaction and concrete testing activities.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential risks and provide regular updates to project management.
  • Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports and quality documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil construction, ideally across major infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
  • Previous experience on wind farm projects is highly regarded, although not essential.
  • Strong technical experience across bulk earthworks, road construction, drainage, concrete foundations and associated civil works.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, site inspections, testing and construction compliance.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and relevant construction standards.
  • Experience working with contractors, engineering consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge non-compliance and proactively resolve issues.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, site-based environment.
Benefits
  • Opportunity to work directly for Tilt Renewables, a leading Australian renewable energy business.
  • Play a key role in the construction of a major wind farm project.
  • Client-side position offering exposure to technical oversight, engineering assurance and project delivery.
  • Work alongside experienced engineering, construction and project management professionals.
  • Join a growing organisation with a significant pipeline of renewable energy projects across Australia.
  • Contribute directly to Australia's clean energy transition.
