Join an established equipment service business supporting customers across construction, infrastructure and industrial sectors. We’re looking for an experienced Plant Mechanic / Field Service Technician to service, maintain and repair a diverse range of heavy plant and equipment.
This is a great opportunity for a qualified mechanic with a background in mobile plant, heavy diesel or mechanical equipment who enjoys hands-on technical work, fault-finding and a mix of workshop and field service duties. The role also involves occasional interstate travel, with travel expenses and accommodation covered.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of plant and equipment
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Responding to equipment breakdowns and completing repairs onsite and in the workshop
- Inspecting equipment to identify faults and ensure safe, reliable operation
- Performing preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
- Travelling to customer sites when required to complete servicing and repairs
- Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring work is completed to a high standard
- Certificate III in Mobile Plant, Heavy Diesel, Engineering or a related mechanical trade
- Previous experience servicing and repairing plant, heavy machinery or similar mechanical equipment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Understanding of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel interstate periodically, including overnight stays
- Reliable, safety-conscious approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Current driver's licence
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
- Competitive $110,000–$140,000 base salary
