We are working with a leading engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Leader to join their Perth Buildings team.
This is a senior technical and client-facing opportunity, working across major healthcare, hospital and complex building projects, with exposure to data centres and other mission-critical environments.
- Lead mechanical design teams across major hospital, healthcare and data centre projects
- Manage multiple major projects concurrently from concept through to delivery
- Provide technical leadership across mechanical building services, HVAC, cooling systems and services integration
- Work closely with clients, project teams, contractors and other disciplines to deliver high-quality design outcomes
- Oversee design delivery, technical reviews, project governance and coordination
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior clients and project stakeholders
- Mentor and develop engineers and designers within the mechanical team
- Contribute to project strategy, technical solutions, risk management and value engineering
- Support business development and the continued growth of the Health and Data Centre sectors
- Play a key role in the delivery of major capital works and technically complex multidisciplinary projects
- Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer
- Approximately 10–15+ years' industry experience
- Strong mechanical design experience within an engineering consultancy, ideally with 5–8 years of design experience before moving into management
- Hospital / healthcare project experience is essential
- Data centre experience is highly desirable
- Candidates without direct data centre experience may be considered with significant experience in large-scale cooling systems or other technically complex environments
- Proven experience leading mechanical design teams and managing multiple projects
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience taking projects from design through to delivery
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services and services integration
- Experience across major capital works and complex multidisciplinary projects
- Australian citizenship required
