About Morson Edge
Morson Edge specialises in Building Services recruitment across Sydney, working closely with consultancies across Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Fire.

About the company
A small, highly specialised Building Services consultancy of around 30 people, focused on Hydraulic and Fire design.

They're not a big corporate business. The culture is relaxed, people know each other and there's a good level of autonomy in the way the team works.
The project work is varied, including fit-outs, commercial, residential, retail and specialist projects, with some really interesting work in the portfolio, including the recent Sydney Fish Market project.

About the role
They're looking for a Senior Revit Technician to join the team and become a key part of their design operation.
This is a genuinely 3D Revit-focused role, rather than a traditional 2D CAD drafting position.
You'll be involved in:
  • Producing detailed 3D Revit models for Hydraulic and Fire services
  • Setting up projects, templates and Revit libraries
  • Coordinating models and carrying out clash detection
  • Working closely with Hydraulic and Fire Engineers to develop designs
  • Producing detailed documentation and drawings
  • Helping maintain and improve Revit standards and processes
  • Coordinating with other disciplines throughout the project
What they're looking for
Ideally, you'll have:
  • Strong Revit MEP experience
  • Previous Hydraulic drafting/design experience would be highly valued
  • An understanding of Hydraulic services and how they're designed and coordinated
  • Experience setting up Revit projects and libraries
  • Strong 3D modelling and clash detection experience
  • Some familiarity with Australian Standards, NCC or similar standards
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of your work
AutoCAD isn't essential, although some experience with it would be useful.

Hydraulic experience is particularly important here. This is a specialised consultancy, so someone who understands what they're modelling rather than simply producing drawings will be much more valuable.

Culture
Probably the biggest difference is the environment.

It's a small, relaxed and non-corporate consultancy where people are trusted to get on with their work. You won't be another number in a huge drafting team and there isn't a lot of unnecessary hierarchy.
You'll have direct access to experienced Engineers and plenty of opportunity to get involved in interesting projects.

Benefits to you
  • $120k–$130k + Super
  • Small, specialist consultancy
  • Strong Hydraulic & Fire focus
  • Varied project portfolio
  • Genuine 3D Revit environment
  • Relaxed, non-corporate culture
  • Good level of autonomy
  • Opportunity to work closely with experienced Engineers
  • Sydney-based team of around 30 people
How to apply
If you're a Revit Technician with strong Hydraulic experience and you're looking for something a bit different from a large corporate environment, I'd be keen to hear from you.
