About the company
An established Tier 1 engineering consultancy with a very strong technical reputation and a major pipeline of complex projects across Australia.

The Sydney Mechanical team is growing and is looking for an Associate-level engineer who wants to work on projects that are genuinely interesting and technically challenging.
You’ll be working across sectors including:

• Defence & secure facilities
• Data Centres – including hyperscale projects
• Transport – Sydney Metro and Sydney Airport
• Sport & Entertainment – major stadium projects
• Healthcare, life sciences and other specialist developments

There is also major work associated with upcoming stadium and Olympic-related projects in Brisbane, alongside ongoing airport and transport projects in Sydney.

About the role
This is an Associate-level project role, with plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to take ownership of technically complex projects.
You’ll be:

• Leading mechanical design on major projects from concept through to delivery
• Working with clients, architects and multidisciplinary teams
• Providing technical direction and mentoring to engineers
• Managing your own projects and taking responsibility for delivery
• Identifying opportunities with existing clients and helping turn good work into repeat business
• Working alongside some exceptionally technical engineers across the wider business

You don't need to have worked on data centres, defence or transport projects already. The right technical background is more important, and the team can develop the sector-specific knowledge.

What they're looking for
We're particularly interested in Mechanical Engineers who have:

• Strong technical Building Services design experience
• Experience working on complex or technically challenging projects
• Ideally, experience within a Tier 1 consultancy
• A background in areas such as healthcare, hospitals, life sciences, defence, transport, data centres or other specialist projects
• The ability to take ownership and work with a good level of autonomy
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• The commercial awareness to recognise opportunities and understand when to bring work back into the business
• A genuine interest in producing high-quality technical work

Australian Citizenship is highly desirable due to the nature of some of the defence and data security projects, although it isn't an absolute requirement.
