An established global renewable energy technology business is seeking an experienced Technical Services Specialist to join its Australian team based on the Sunshine Coast.

This role will suit an engineering professional who enjoys combining technical problem solving, customer support and field-based troubleshooting within the utility-scale solar sector. You will act as a key technical point of contact for customers, supporting the performance, reliability and optimisation of advanced renewable energy systems across Australia.

The Role Reporting into the technical services team, you will be responsible for providing high-level support to customers, contractors and internal stakeholders, ensuring issues are investigated, resolved and documented efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing technical support across mechanical, electrical, communications and installation-related issues
  • Investigating field-based faults and identifying root causes
  • Supporting commissioning, testing and deployment of technology solutions
  • Assisting customers and field personnel with troubleshooting and system optimisation
  • Identifying risks, failures and improvement opportunities and implementing corrective actions
  • Delivering technical training to customers and project partners
  • Preparing reports, technical documentation and service recommendations
  • Supporting remote monitoring activities and field repair guidance
  • Working closely with engineering, product development and operations teams to improve product performance and customer outcomes
  • Providing regular updates to customers and management on issue resolution and project progress
  • Travelling to project sites across Australia as required
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have:
  • Degree qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
  • Extensive experience working with industrial control systems, automation, communications or renewable energy technologies
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet networks, IP-enabled devices and remote access technologies
  • Experience with wireless communications and networking systems
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Proven troubleshooting and fault-finding capability across electrical, mechanical or communications systems
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly
  • Experience working safely within construction or industrial environments
  • Understanding of Australian WHS requirements, JSA and SWMS processes
  • Construction White Card and unrestricted driver's licence
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when required
Highly Regarded
  • Electrical or Instrumentation qualifications
  • Experience with Modbus, OPC-UA, SSH, FTP, SFTP or SCP protocols
  • Linux operating system experience
  • Scripting or programming experience including Python, PowerShell, VBA or Bash
  • Utility-scale solar, BESS or renewable energy experience
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic systems and solar tracking technology
  • Experience using Salesforce Service Cloud or similar platforms
