The opportunity
Our client is a leading energy infrastructure organisation delivering critical transmission projects and supporting the transition of major assets into operations.
We are seeking experienced Asset Engineers across two separate roles: Primary System Assets Engineer and Transmission Line Assets Engineer.
Both positions report to the Assets Manager and are responsible for supporting asset lifecycle management, maintenance strategies, asset performance monitoring, risk management, and operational readiness. The roles work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, project teams, network operators, generators, and external stakeholders.

- Lead the transition of assets from construction into operations, ensuring integration into maintenance and asset management systems.
- Develop and optimise maintenance plans for HV transmission and primary system assets.
- Monitor asset condition, performance, reliability, and risks, implementing improvement initiatives.
- Support condition assessments, inspections, incident investigations, audits, and compliance activities.
- Provide technical expertise across HV/EHV infrastructure, including primary electrical assets and transmission line assets.
- Support lifecycle planning, CAPEX/OPEX optimisation, and asset reliability improvements.
- Manage stakeholder engagement with internal teams, contractors, network operators, and project partners.
- Prepare asset performance reports and provide recommendations to support decision-making.
Responsible for the management of primary electrical assets including transformers, shunt reactors, instrument transformers (CTs/VTs), HV circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, busbars, surge arresters, harmonic filters, and synchronous condensers.
Transmission line assets engineer focus
Responsible for the management of transmission line infrastructure including conductors, towers, poles, insulators, shield wires, OPGW, right-of-way maintenance, vegetation management, and bushfire risk mitigation.
Skills & qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- CPEng or working towards CPEng preferred.
- Experience in HV/EHV transmission networks and asset management.
- Knowledge of asset lifecycle management, maintenance strategies, and condition monitoring.
- Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance frameworks.
- Understanding of ISO 55001 and relevant electrical standards.
- Experience with Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS), SCADA, GIS, or asset performance systems.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- NSW Driver's Licence and Construction White Card.
