Join a growing equipment hire company supporting customers across construction, logistics, warehousing and commercial industries.
We’re looking for a qualified Diesel Mechanic / Field Service Technician to join the team in a hands-on workshop and field-based role, servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of equipment.
This is a great opportunity for a qualified mechanic from a Mobile Plant, Diesel, Heavy Vehicle, Truck, Forklift or Plant Hire background who is looking for a varied role and the opportunity to develop their skills across different types of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing diesel & hydraulic equipment
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing and mechanical repairs
- Diagnosing and fault-finding diesel engines, hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Attending breakdowns and carrying out repairs onsite and in the workshop
- Completing inspections and preparing equipment for hire
- Conducting routine maintenance and safety inspections
- Carrying out breakdown response and troubleshooting
- Communicating directly with customers and providing professional onsite service
- Supporting general workshop duties and keeping equipment maintained to a high standard
- Ensuring all equipment is safe, reliable and ready for customers
What You’ll Need
- Certificate III in Diesel, Mobile Plant, Heavy Vehicle, Forklift or a related mechanical trade
- Previous experience as a qualified mechanic within a workshop, field service, plant, transport, truck, forklift or equipment environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills
- Good diesel engine diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
- Experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Professional approach when dealing directly with customers
- Current driver’s licence
