We’re seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager to lead a retail refurbishment project in the Sydney CBD. This is a 4-month contract with a well-established contractor, delivering a high-quality upgrade within a live retail environment. Candidates with a background in supermarket or retail refurbishments—particularly for brands like Coles, Woolworths, or similar—are highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring smooth and safe delivery of all construction activities.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors across various trades with an emphasis on quality and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, project specifications, and OH&S standards.
- Liaise with project managers, store representatives, and stakeholders to minimise disruption to retail operations.
- Drive program outcomes and uphold high standards of finish, often during night works or staged handovers in live environments.
- Proven experience managing retail refurbishment projects, ideally within operating stores.
- Background in projects for Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, or similar retailers is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a practical and hands-on management style.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage tight programs, and deliver clean, compliant finishes.
- Solid understanding of sequencing works in active trading environments, including after-hours work.
