We are excited to represent one of Sydney’s leading construction contractors in their search for a Leading Hand to work on a high-profile education project at Sydney University.
With a start date in mid to late January, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills and contribute to the successful delivery of a renowned institutional project.
The Role:
As the Leading Hand, you’ll play a key role in assisting the Site Manager in overseeing daily on-site operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and coordinating tradespeople and subcontractors, particularly those in building services disciplines (electrical, mechanical, etc.).
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with project timelines.
- Maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards on-site.
- Assisting with progress reporting, issue resolution, and site meetings as required.
- Driving productivity and maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand: Ideally with exposure to commercial or institutional projects such as education, healthcare, or offices.
- Carpentry background preferred: Hands-on experience in carpentry will be highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of building services: Familiarity with coordinating trades like electrical, mechanical, and hydraulics is advantageous.
- Leadership skills: You’re proactive, reliable, and can motivate teams to deliver exceptional results.
- Attention to detail: You’re proud of delivering high-quality outcomes that meet or exceed expectations.
- Excellent communication: Confidence in liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and the broader project team.
- Work with a highly regarded contractor known for delivering complex and quality-driven projects across Sydney.
