Rachel Bales

Division Manager

Rachel Bales

Since 2016, Rachel has specialised in recruitment across the Piling and Geotechnical Engineering sectors, supporting both specialist contractors and consultancies Australia-wide. With close to a decade of experience in this niche market, she has built a strong reputation for delivering tailored recruitment solutions across both white and blue-collar roles, from on-site labour through to senior technical and leadership positions.

Rachel’s success is underpinned by her deep technical knowledge of ground engineering and foundation systems, combined with her ability to move quickly in a competitive, skills-short environment. She partners with clients to build reliable, high-performing teams that are critical to project success, whether on a long-term program or a fast-moving package of works.

Her track record spans a wide range of Australia’s most significant infrastructure and transport projects, including major contributions to Sydney Metro (City & Southwest and the Western Tunnelling Package), WestConnex Stage 3 and the Rozelle Interchange, Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel and the early works for the Suburban Rail Loop, as well as the Northeast Link. She has also supported piling and geotechnical teams working on Snowy Hydro 2.0, Cross River Rail in Brisbane, the Tonkin Gap and Morley-Ellenbrook Line projects in Perth, Inland Rail across QLD and NSW, and the Coffs Harbour Bypass and Western Harbour Tunnel in NSW.

Her recruitment expertise covers the full spectrum of piling and geotechnical roles. On the white-collar side, this includes Geotechnical Engineers, Project Engineers, Estimators, Design Engineers, Site Managers and Technical Directors. On the blue-collar side, she regularly supplies piling rig operators (across CFA, rotary, bored and driven systems), offsiders, supervisors, riggers, dogmen, and plant operators with specialist experience in ground engineering.

Rachel’s in-depth market knowledge, trusted networks, and no-nonsense approach have made her a go-to recruiter in the Australian piling and geotechnical space, valued by clients for her integrity, responsiveness, and ability to deliver when it counts.
